How to: Use wild cards to search for word or number that cannot be remembered.
Solution:
Select the 'Edit' menu and select 'Find...', use asterisks when typing what to search for in the 'Find What' box, and click 'Find First'.
1) If the Database window is not active, activate the Database window.
2) Open the table in the Table Datasheet view.
3) Select the field in which to search for all the records:
a) Place the cursor over the 'Field Selector' for the desired field. (The cursor turns into a down arrow.)

b) Press the mouse button. (The field is highlighted.)
NOTE 1: To select more than one adjacent field, press and hold down SHIFT while selecting the 'Field Selector' for each field.
NOTE 2: To select more than one non-adjacent field, press and hold down CTRL while selecting the 'Field Selector' for each field.
4) Select the 'Edit' menu and select 'Find...'. (The Find dialog box appears.)
5) Type what to search for in the 'Find What' box, using an asterisk (*) for unknown characters or numbers.

EXAMPLE: Type '*under*' to search for all entries containing 'under' anywhere in the cell.
6) Make sure the 'Search Only Current Field' check box is selected.

7) Make sure all other check boxes are cleared.
8) Click 'Find First'. (The first record meeting the criteria typed in step 4) is found. The found string is highlighted so that when the change is typed, it completely replaces the existing highlighted string.)
9) (Optional) Click 'Close' to close the 'Find' dialog box and make any changes to the record.
10) To find additional records with the same criteria:
a) (Special Case) If 'Close' was chosen in step 9), select the 'Edit' menu and select 'Find'. (The Find dialog box appears, with the same criteria still in the Find What box.)
b) Click 'Find Next'.
c) (Optional) Click 'Close' to close the 'Find' dialog box and make any changes to the record.
d) Repeat steps 10)a) through 10)c) for each additional record meeting the criteria. (When the last one is reached, the next one to appear will be the first again, that had appeared in step 8) above.)
11) Click 'Close' to close the 'Find' dialog box.
